Day One

Well I have managed to create a blog. Which is pretty good for me.
Most difficult thing was choosing a name. My husband suggested "late in life librarian" so I threw a book at him.

After teaching Maths for 32 years this is scary stuff. But it is certainly time for a change and I must have some genes in me, not to do with numbers, as I have produced two children who studied the Histories and English at university and one who sings Opera (not sure where that comes from).

Always loved libraries and books but have also become more interested in cross curriculum learning and researching over the past two years, being the academic co-ordinator for our senior school. Particularly being involved in Years 11 and 12 in their study periods.

I have stepped back from this to teaching Maths full time to give me time to do this study. No more timetabling, creating rosters or BOS entries in the evenings for me. Yay!

I hope the course is not too difficult for someone like me who has not done any work in a library. (Some posts alluding to this were a little worrying) but I will see how I go. . . . . .

  1. Hi Judy. I am also a Maths trained teacher, but have always had a love of English and books. I love the idea of integrating technology and your reference to cross-curricular learning now has me thinking...
